BIOGRAPHY

Hello! My name is Jonathan and I am a senior studying the incredibly nerdy, slightly terrifying, and ultimately pretty cool combo of music and biology. I also play the euphonium and conduct research in a lab on campus that studies nematodes. My career goal at this juncture is to become a 9-5 pharmacist or researcher in a lab and a 5-9 composer. In my free time, I like to try out new recipes, do anything outdoors (climb, hike, bike, explore, run, etc.), visit friends, watch shows and movies, and find and listen to new music. I am very excited to be a part of Illini 4000 and to dedicate my time (and legs) to this amazing organization!

PERSONAL STATEMENT

It is no question that cancer has a devastating effect on millions of lives each year, and I am joining this organization to help make a difference for those affected by it, no matter how small.
I am doing this ride for my grandma who I never got to meet, one of my mom's closest friends whom I knew as a child, and two of my scouting troop leaders that had a profound impact on my life.
I am also doing this ride for all affected by the presence of cancer in their lives or in the lives of their loved ones and friends, and for the continued advancement of technology, research, and medicine that seeks to catch cancer early and treat it effectively. I am very grateful for this life-changing opportunity and thankful for any and all support!
