The toads and bugs of the evening are keeping me company as I write this— day ten, camping night number one!
Today we crossed from New York, to Pennsylvania, and into Ohio! It feels kind of crazy that we’re already in the fourth state (if you count our brief time in NJ). It’s only been 10 days, and at the same time, it’s already been 10 days! Knowing that previous I4K teams have ridden through these exact places before is kind of wild. We’re years apart, with totally different circumstances, and yet all stopping at the exact same locations and doing the exact same ride for the same, great cause.
Our route was along Lake Erie again today, so we had lake wind (ugh) and peeks at the water between trees (nice). For pre-lunch, we went to Sheetz for their “famous” hot dogs and then had actual lunch in Erie Bluffs State Park. After that, things got a little rough for some of us because our main route was closed, and so were the alternatives! But we made our way around and ended up getting some ice cream before finally reaching our campsite. Willard’s family came to see us and brought dinner (thank you!) and games (thank you!!) and then most of us headed to the lake to skip and collect rocks. Shoutout to Cam and Gibby for holding down the campsite!
We had a great day today and are heading to Cleveland tomorrow!!
