Biography

Hi! My name is Nicole, and I am a freshman in electrical engineering. Outside of my academic pursuits and fiddling with circuits, I enjoy picking up random little hobbies, staying active, and traveling. Outside of I4K, I stay active by participating in Ultimate Frisbee and Climbing Club. My other hobbies are also aimed at challenging myself and learning new things, such as solving the Rubik's cube, teaching myself to play the guitar, and now, biking across the country! I am lucky to have seen most of the U.S. on four wheels via road trips, but experiencing such a journey on two wheels will be an unforgettable adventure. I am excited to train hard and fundraise to help fight against cancer on my I4K journey!

Personal Statement

Biking across the country is not only an incredible opportunity to travel, but it's also a meaningful journey since its main goal is to fundraise for cancer research and document people's experiences with cancer via the Portraits Project. Knowing that I am a part of a team who aims to make a difference with such an ambitious goal, makes the experience purposeful and fulfilling. Another motivation for joining I4K is that I have had family members pass away due to cancer, so this ride will be dedicated to them and anyone else who has gone through the struggles of fighting cancer. I hope this trip not only inspires me, but also motivates others to never give up on their journeys.
