BIOGRAPHY
Hi! My name is Olivia Ross. I am a freshman studying psychology at UIUC. As well as Illini4000, I am involved in the Undergraduate Psychology Association. I like to spend my time going on hikes, reading books, and taking photos. I am very passionate about mental health awareness, and I hope to make a difference in that field after obtaining my degree. I am so excited to participate in a club as amazing as Illini4000!
PERSONAL STATEMENT
When I first found out about Illini4000, I was immediately intrigued by the Portraits Project and the focus on supporting important cancer research. I thought the Portraits Project was such a unique and special way to capture the stories of some amazing people. I knew that if my grandma was still alive, she would have been honored to share her story. Unfortunately, after fighting cancer for over a decade, she lost her battle and passed away. My grandma was the definition of a free spirit. She lived life with passion, and loved her family fiercely. What should have been the start of her well-deserved retirement, turned into the last months of her life. I am riding for her, and in hopes that Illini4000 will help someone like her get better.
