BIOGRAPHY
Hi! My name is Marie Hubbard and I am an undeclared freshman here at the University of Illinois. I attended Saint Charles East High school in the suburbs where I was involved in lacrosse and student government. I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music and watching movies. I love traveling and pushing myself to the limit, so I'm very excited to be able to bike across the country this summer!
PERSONAL STATEMENT
Throughout my life, many of my friends and family have been impacted by cancer. A lot of these people that are affected by this disease are some of the most resilient and positive people I know. The biggest reason that I am doing this ride is that I think that people who can be positive in the face of a terrible illness are incredibly strong. I think it's really important that we recognize this and give them the support programs they need. Through Illini 4000, I will be able to not only raise money for research and support programs, but raise awareness about the importance they have to survivors and their families.
