BIOGRAPHY

Hi everyone, thank you for visiting my page!! My name is Mandy Tainter and I am a Junior at University of Illinois. I am lucky enough to combine several of my passions in pursuing a degree in elementary education. Not only do I have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the students I teach, I get to hangout with a bunch of adorable kiddos!! Currently, I am observing at a local school in Champaign and I will be student teaching in the spring! I am from Palatine, IL which is a northwest suburb of Chicago. Some of my hobbies include; volunteering, traveling, going to country concerts(Yee Haw!), going to the beach, shopping (Target therapy), going to the movies, working out, ice skating, celebrating Christmas year round, hanging out with friends and family, and looking at pictures of french bulldogs(I’m obsessed!). I am a friendly person that is always open to trying new things and making friends. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to do both of those things this summer. A summer full of service and adventure it can’t get much better than that!

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Several of my family and friends have experienced devastating losses as a result of cancer. However, due to the incredible advancements in research and services, members of my immediate family were able to beat cancer. Through the fundraising we do for this organization we can contribute to funding research and patient support services that will hopefully help several victims beat cancer too! I feel so honored to have the opportunity to share the stories of those who have been affected by cancer. Everyone can play a part in the fight against cancer, and I am especially lucky to have the opportunity to do so with Illini 4000!
