BIOGRAPHY
My name is Yujin Lee. I am a Junior at the University of Illinois majoring in Advertising. It is my first year in the campus. I have transferred from Chicago where I had lived for 3 years. I am originally from Seoul, South Korea and most of my memories are there. I love my hometown because it is a place filled with energetic and challenging people. I regard Chicago as my second hometown. Going fishing to harbors in summer and playing thousands pieces of puzzle games at friend's house in winter blizzard were my favorites. I just love the way the city is. People, food, parks and even that high skyscrapers make me smile. Even though I had hard time standing alone in a whole new world, I, as an optimist, enjoyed those struggles as well. And now here at Champaign, I hope all my experience with Illini 4000 enrich my life and Champaign become my third hometown with all wonderful memories!
PERSONAL STATEMENT
I, as many of you, had seen my family members and saw my best friend struggling with devastated lifetime due to cancer. My friend, Yuri, survived from bone cancer, but she had to put artificial cement bone in her left upper leg. What she had done for the first time with her new leg was to go on the Long March through National Land which was campaign for helping young patients like her. I was indeed inspired by her challenges. Even though she couldn't finish her march perfectly, her strong soul inspired and encouraged many people around her. Now, I am going to finish her march here in America, not with two feet but with two wheels, to inspire and be inspired by "you, my companies!"
