My name is Tyler Levy and I am currently a senior majoring in Finance and minoring in Informatics. Born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, I could not have accomplished what I have without the support from my friends and family. After the ride this summer, I will be working as a Financial Analyst for Allstate in Northbrook. I first joined Illini 4000 as a member of the 2014 team. I would then go on to hold the role of President for the 2015 and 2016 teams. Joining Illini 4000 my freshman year was easily the best decision I have made in college and I cannot think of any better way to end my I4K career than co-leading the 2017 ride.
When I first rode across the country I was lucky enough to say that I had never known anyone on a personal level that had to struggle or still struggled with cancer. Even though my connection to cancer was somewhat indirect I still felt that need to help others. During the ride, I had the opportunity to meet people across the United States impacted by cancer. Now, I ride for them along with those that I will meet during the ride this summer.
