Welcome to my page! My name is Nathan Ehrenhofer, and I am a Freshman studying Materials Science and Engineering. The reason I chose Materials Science and Engineering as my major involves my broad set of interests. Some of my interests include, hockey, running, volunteering, energy, technology, and of course materials. These interests are reflected in the many activities that I pursue on campus. I currently run for the Illinois Cross Country and Track Club. I am a member of the Illini Formula Electric team. I play ice and roller hockey whenever I have free time. Finally, I volunteer through I4k. Volunteering has been a huge part of my life. Since cub scouts, I have volunteered to help those in need. Now, as an Eagle Scout I have made the commitment to lifelong service to the community. As long as there are those in need, I am here to help. Outside of activities and classwork, I enjoy the outdoors. I look forward to adventure and exploration. I am a fan of the Blackhawks, Cubs, and Bears, but mostly the Blackhawks. Some interesting things about me include: I drink a lot of tea, I prefer dogs over cats, I rollerblade to class, my favorite TV show is Teen Titans, I think the elder-scrolls video game series is one of the greatest of all time, legos are the best toy in the world, my favorite color is green, and I want to be amazing at skateboarding.

Personal Statement

I4k presents a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of those affected by cancer. Cancer has harmed the lives of millions of people, including my grandfather. My Grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and was able to survive his treatment. Others are not as fortunate. This ride represents more than those lost to the battle against cancer. It represents the hope for the cure, the impact of support, and the willingness to sacrifice a great deal of time in order to do something incredible. The ride may seem as impossible as living with cancer. However, people have completed the ride and people have beaten cancer. We share cancer stories through the portraits project so that no one loses hope. As the fight against cancer continues, I will be on the front lines, making a difference in lives across the country.
