Board of Directors
The Illini 4000 for Cancer is managed by the Board of Directors. Their mission is to manage the day-to-day operations of the organization and develop a strategic vision which will ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization.
Board of Directors
Tyler joined Illini 4000 in 2013 his freshman year and was a member of the 2014 team. Tyler took over as President after a year of training under the last president. As president, he oversees the board’s various responsibilities to ensure that their activities are aligned with the organization’s mission and founding principles. Tyler is currently a junior majoring in Finance.
Josh Weisberg joined the Illini 4000 as a freshman and rode across America in 2014. He quickly developed a passion for the organization, and decided to continue after the ride as a member of the board. He served as Director of Logistics for two years, creating and optimizing the route to make sure the Bike America Team had awesome experiences. Since Josh is currently studying Industrial Engineering, this emulated his major quite well. Josh assumed the role of Vice President his Senior Year, and is excited to be leading the organization’s efforts to train and prepare riders and active members throughout the school year.
Maren joined the Illini 4000 as a rider her sophomore year and rode in summer of 2016. Now, as treasurer, she handles the Illini 4000’s finances and ensures our fiscal compliance with the University of Illinois as well as both State and Federal laws. Maren is currently a Junior pursuing a degree in Accounting and can’t wait to get involved with the 2017 team!
Catherine joined Illini 4000 her sophomore year and rode across the country with the 2016 team. After the ride, she wanted to stay connected to Illini 4000′s mission and is excited to serve as the Director of Logistics. As Director of Logistics, she works closely with the Logistics Committee to create and optimize the route as well as co-ordinate stayovers and ride events to make sure the team has the best experience from coast to coast.
Jeff Bogue joined Illini 4000 as a freshman in 2013, and rode on the 2014 team. Throughout college he would never turn down an opportunity to share his experience of the ride and what Illini 4000 is all about. Now in his senior year, he is the Director of Marketing for Illini 4000, and is responsible for promoting the organization on campus, in the community, and during the ride. He works with the media, donors, and riders to spread the mission and message of the Illini 4000. Jeff is currently studying Industrial Design.
Shutian joined the Illini 4000 as a freshman and rode across America in 2015. She joined the Portraits Project Committee after the ride shortly before her studying abroad in Australia. She currently serves as the Director of Information and is responsible for the website efforts of the Illini 4000 and facilitating effective internal documentation and communication amongst directors. Shutian is a junior with dual degrees in Industrial Engineering and Psychology, and a minor in Computer Science.
Zack Zlevor Joined the Illini 4000 his sophomore year, and rode with the team in 2015. Since the ride, he has been deeply motivated and involved with the Portraits Project. As the director, he aims to create more awareness and foster a stronger community of support between survivors, caretakers and all of those who have been effected by cancer. Zack is currently studying in Industrial Design.
